Valencia Basket closes its streak as a visitor on the court of Movistar Estudiantes
Valencia Basket closes its series of three consecutive away games in nine days by visiting the Movistar Estudiantes court (Sunday 23, 12:30 hours, Wizink Center, Movistar Deportes) in a Endesa League round 13 game. After taking the victory in Burgos and Trento, the taronja squad reaches a meeting in which if it is able to take the victory would take a significant step forward in its aspiration to get the ticket for the Copa del Rey. And it would also allow them to continue extending the current run of results, which is already of six wins in a row. The recent precedents in the collegiate court are favorable to the taronja team (four wins in his last five visits) although the Movistar Estudiantes’ win in last season by 73-71 broke the good taronja dynamic on this court.
The Taronja group has suffered some news regarding the last game of Liga Endesa. Joan Sastre has overcome his back injury and could return to play in the Wizink Center after being away from the courts since October 10, Fernando San Emeterio will be available after missing the last two games due to a dental infection and Sergi García will be sidelined by a not displaced fracture in the pyramidal bone of his right hand that will take him away from the courts between three and four weeks. The loss of the Balearic point-guard joins the already known absence of center Bojan Dubljevic, who is close to completing his second week of recovery from the grade 2 sprain in the left ankle. Antoine Diot, who has already played some minutes in the 7DAYS EuroCup, could return to play in the Endesa League on an afternoon in which Rafa Martínez is 14 points away from becoming the highest scorer in the history of the Club in this competition. Valencia Basket currently occupies the seventh position of the Endesa League, with a record of 7 wins and 5 losses.
